Nurse Executive Leadership

Nursing Leadership in Health Systems (NLHS) graduates are eligible for board certification through the American Nurses Credentialing Center or through the American Organization of Nurse Leaders. Graduates find employment in hospitals, health systems, clinics, business, and industry. A coordinator who is a certified nurse executive oversees this MSN specialty track.

The NLHS track consists of 525 hours of leadership practicum hours under the supervision of a leadership preceptor. Through community partnerships, IUSON offers consistent clinical placement for NLHS students. Preceptors include leaders who are registered nurses, executives, business and industry leaders, or physicians in leadership positions. The leadership courses are taught in a hybrid (mix of face-to-face and online) format that is distance accessible by experienced nurse leader faculty thereby ensuring quality, oversight, and relationships with students and preceptors. If you would like to learn more about preceptor opportunities available at IUSON, please contact the track coordinator.
